Vintage mid-century Scandinavian design by Gunnar Nylund for Rörstrand stoneware bowl, made in Sweden in the 1950s.
Rörstrand 'R' and three crowns, SWEDEN, GN markings on the base. Marked as style 3 from the Eterna line. Factory 1st. Lovely shades of olive green blend together in a lovely semi-matte smooth glaze. Flat round form with thick edges and a sturdy weight. Geometric triangle relief pattern inside and stripes around the outside.
Condition:
In very vintage condition. There are some graphite markings and light surface scratches. There is also a notch in the glaze along the edge, this is from production. See photos for details.

Gunnar Nylund (1904-1997) was a Swedish ceramic designer and is one of the most well-known representatives of Scandinavian ceramic design in the 20th century. He is best known for his artistic direction of Rörstrand where he worked from 1931-1955. Nylund’s works are highly collectible and greatly sought after. Many are represented at the Swedish National Museum of Art and Design.
