Vintage Strömbergshyttan sommerso crystal glass vase, designed by Gunnar Nylund in Sweden in the 1950s.
Lovely collector's item! Beautiful sommerso style vase with air bulb. The coloured underlay is a rich dark brown encased in clear crystal. Original silver Strömbergshyttan Sweden label on front. Signed 'Stromberg' on base, as well as number - a little hard to decipher, possibly H92. It is a lovely low cube form with thick walls and a sturdy weight. There is a pinhole in the brown colour from production (see zoom photo of inside), doesn't detract from appearance.
Condition:
In very good vintage condition. Some light surface scratches consistent with age. No other chips, scratches or damage to note.
Measurements:
7.2cm tall x 6.7cm wide x 6.5cm deep = approx 2.75" x 2.5" x 2.5"
Rounded square shaped opening, approx 4.8cm x 5cm at widest. Wall is approx 9mm thick.
