Vintage Zanesville Stoneware Company ribbed cylindrical vase, homespun in Ohio circa 1960.
Made from distinctive yellowish clay with a lovely soft bluey green glossy glaze in between ribbed uncoloured stripes. The coverage is irregular so each piece is unique. The inside is smooth and the drip glaze effect can be seen. The vase has a cylindrical shape and a very heavy, sturdy weight. 4010 model marking on unglazed base.
Condition:
In very good vintage condition, some irregularities in the form and glaze as it is handcrafted, for example there is a flattened browner stripe down one side (shown in photo 2). No chips, cracks or repairs.
Measurements:
25.5cm height x 11.5cm diameter = approx 10.25" x 4.5"
Lovely as part of a set - more Zanesville styles also available, as shown in last image.
