Rörstrand Sweden 'R' and three crowns markings inside the pedestal foot. Also marked CHS for Carl-Harry Stålhane. Factory 2nd, style SHI. Rich coloured glaze in shades of brown. The bowl form has an organic asymmetrical shape, gently 3 sided. The pedestal foot has a geometric impressed decoration. A beautiful display piece and a great collector's item.

Condition:
In excellent vintage condition. There are some pinholes and glaze bubbles, in particular some large low 'bubbles' on the interior bottom from production. This is likely why the piece is marked as a second.

9.7cm tall x approx 14cm wide = approx 3.75" x 5.5"
Pedestal is 4cm tall.

Carl-Harry Stålhane was one of the most important ceramic artists and designers in Sweden during the 20th century. He worked for Rörstrand in 1939 to 1973. In the late 1940’s he first attracted international attention with his typical design for slender, symmetrical vases in monochrome, matt glazes, inspired by ancient Chinese Sung ceramics. His name is synonymous with high ceramic quality, magnificent creative design and brilliant craftsmanship.
