Large vintage ceramic jug by Elly & Wilhelm Kuch, made in Middle Franconia, Germany circa 1950s.

Tall hand-made form with ribbon handle and small spout. The base in unglazed and reveals the red-brown clay with the embossed studio mark of Elly & Wilhelm Kuch. The exterior is overglazed with a glossy off-white base and a decorative green peacock feather design.

Condition:
In excellent vintage condition. No chips, cracks or repairs.

Measurements:
22cm tall x 16cm wide including handle x 10.5cm deep = approx 8.75" x 6.25" x 4.25"

Wilhelm Kuch opened his studio in Burgthann, near Nuremberg, in 1948 and after marrying Elly in 1953 they worked together producing fine ceramics that won them awards all over Europe. Their work is known for beautiful, unique forms & glazes.
