Vintage mid-century Scandinavian design Gunnar Nylund for Rörstrand Hedgehog vase, made in Sweden 1930s-40s.

Rörstrand three crowns, SVERIGE (Sweden) CHAMOTTE NYLUND markings on the base. Model V208. The Chamotte vases come in 3 sizes, this is the medium size. Rare collector's item of iconic Swedish design. Intricate deeply textured stoneware chamotte surface with a lovely glossy white glaze. Nice substantial weight.

Condition:
In excellent vintage condition. No chips, cracks or damage, beautiful condition despite the age of the piece! Please note the brown spots in the glaze scattered occasionally around the surface, shown in the pictures. They are ash flakes which burnt during the high firing of production. They are not damage, they are a part of the production of the piece and they really don't detract from the amazing appearance.

Measurements:
16cm tall x approx 13cm diameter at widest point = approx 6.5" x 5.25"
Opening is round, 3.5cm diameter at top edge, plus a 1cm lip.

Blue Hedgehog vase also available, as shown in last image.
