Vintage mid-century Gunnar Nylund for Rörstrand stoneware bowl, made in Sweden circa 1950s.

Rörstrand 'R' and three crowns, SWEDEN, GN markings on the base. Also marked as style ARO. Beautiful dark matte brown/black coloured haresfur glaze. Beautiful sculptural form. It is a rare collector's item of iconic Swedish design.

Condition:
In excellent vintage condition. No chips, cracks or damage.

Measurements:
5cm tall x 10.5cm wide x 7.5cm deep = approx 2" x 4.25" x 3"

If filled with heat-absorbing sand it would make a lovely incense holder*.

"Bowl only" option does not include sand and incense.
"Bowl + incense kit" option includes sand and one stick of Japanese incense.

Gunnar Nylund (1904-1997) was a Swedish ceramic designer and is one of the most well-known representatives of Scandinavian ceramic design in the 20th century. He is best known for his artistic direction of Rörstrand where he worked from 1931-1955. Nylund’s works are highly collectible and greatly sought after. Many are represented at the Swedish National Museum of Art and Design.
