BY NAMBÉ 573 markings impressed on the base referring to maker and style no. This great mid century design with clean lines and an asymmetrical oval form, is often referred to as the butterfly and was created by Richard K. Thomas. Each is unique. Made from silver metal alloy the dish has a smooth surface with a beautiful shiny surface. Nambé alloy is a mix of 8 metals, designed to resist tarnish. If filled with heat-absorbing sand it would make a lovely incense holder.
Condition:
In good vintage condition. These pieces have developed a lovely patina over years of use, they show wear with many surface scratches and marks. See pictures for details. These marks add to the charm and character of the pieces. If you would like further details/pictures please enquire.

Nambé was founded in 1951 in the village of Nambé, near Santa Fe, New Mexico after the discovery of a proprietary metal alloy. Nambé created its products by heating the metal to over 1300 degrees Fahrenheit and then carefully ladling it into a handmade sand mold where it is then cast as one solid piece. Once each piece is set, they are shaped, polished, and buffed passing through the hands of craftsmen.
