Vintage mid-century Scandinavian design by Gunnar Nylund for Rörstrand stoneware bowl, made in Sweden in the 1950s.
Rörstrand 'R' and three crowns, SWEDEN, GN markings on the base. Factory 1st. Beautifully coloured in shades of green with crystalline speckles of offwhite/grey over a semi-matte haresfur glaze. Cute little form with four feet that resembles a bathtub. It is a rare collector's item of iconic Swedish design.
Condition:
In very good vintage condition. There are some pinholes throughout the glaze including a cluster in the interior (see photos for detail). A few grey graphite markings, common to this type of glaze.

Gunnar Nylund (1904-1997) was a Swedish ceramic designer and is one of the most well-known representatives of Scandinavian ceramic design in the 20th century. He is best known for his artistic direction of Rörstrand where he worked from 1931-1955. Nylund’s works are highly collectible and greatly sought after. Many are represented at the Swedish National Museum of Art and Design.
