Unique antique wooden bowl with copper rim, likely made in the USA in early 19th Century.
This is a beautifully preserved medium sized wooden bowl, around 200 years old. It has been used for decades to churn butter or for making dough (markings inside bowl reflect this tradition - see photos). It has a rare copper rim detail, making for a lovely fruit bowl or centrepiece. It's a lovely example of rustic farmhouse decor.
Condition:
It is in excellent condition, especially given it's age. The bowl was hand turned in an oval form from a solid piece of wood. It has a large split on one side, there are holes from where a repair had once been, now the copper rim holds it together. The split adds to the character and charm of the bowl. The wood has developed a rich patina from years of use. Deep signs of age and wear.
Measurements:
9.5cm tall x 26.5cm wide x 25cm deep = approx 3.75" x 10.5" x 10"
More wooden bowls of various sizes also available, some shown in last image.
