Antique large birdseye maple wooden bowl - 1800s

Authentic antique wooden butter or dough bowl, likely made in the USA in the 1800s.

Made of birdseye maple wood, this is an exceptionally well preserved large bowl. It has been used for years to churn butter or for making dough (markings inside bowl reflect this tradition-see photos). The shape is slightly warped from years of use, adding to the charm and character of the bowl. It's a beautiful example of rustic farmhouse decor which would make a stunning fruit bowl or centrepiece.

Condition:
In excellent condition with no cracks - rare for an antique butter bowl. The bowl was hand turned from a solid piece of wood. It has developed a lovely patina with stunning depth of colour from years of use. Deep signs of age and wear. This is a unique rustic piece.

Measurements:
Irregular shape approx 8.6cm tall x 31-33cm diameter = approx 3.5" x 12-13".
