Authentic antique wooden salad bowl, likely made in the USA circa 1910.
Carved from hardwood, this is a beautifully preserved medium bowl. It has been used for years to serve salad, churn butter or for making dough (markings inside bowl reflect these traditions - see photos). The shape is slightly warped from years of use, adding to the charm and character of the bowl. It has a lip at the outside edge. It's a lovely example of rustic farmhouse decor which would make a stunning fruit bowl or centrepiece.
Condition:
The bowl was turned from a solid piece of wood. It is in excellent condition with no cracks - rare for an antique wooden bowl. The wood has developed a lovely patina with a stunning depth of colour from years of use. There are some small red stain spots inside. All these deep signs of age and wear make this is a unique rustic piece.
Measurements:
6cm tall x 28cm deep x 26cm wide = approx 2.5" x 11" x 10.25"
Many more wooden bowls of various sizes also available, some shown in last image.
