Vintage studio pottery bud vase, attributed to Ellis Ceramics, made in Melbourne, Australia in 1950-60s.
Beautiful yellow glossy craquelure glaze with speckled brown matte drip overlaid. Lovely little form with round opening. Base is signed by the artist.
Condition:
In excellent vintage condition. No chips, cracks or repairs.
Measurements:
8cm tall x 9cm diameter = approx 3" x 3.5"
4cm round opening.

Ellis Ceramics was an Australian pottery studio established in 1953 in Abbotsford, Melbourne by Czechoslovakian couple, Dasa and Milda Kratochvil. Their work was mostly slip-cast earthenware and a small variety of wheel-thrown bowls and plates. Many pieces are hand decorated or carved, making each piece individual.
