Vintage mid-century Scandinavian designed Gunnar Nylund for Rörstrand Sweden stoneware bowl, made in Sweden in the 1950s.
Rörstrand 'R', three crowns, SWEDEN, GN incised on the base. Also marked as style ASH - this is the small size. Factory 1st. Shades of brown and blue blend together in a matte haresfur glaze. Beautiful sculptural biomorphic form. This is a rare collector's item of iconic Swedish design.

Gunnar Nylund (1904-1997) was a Swedish ceramic designer and is one of the most well-known representatives of Scandinavian ceramic design in the 20th century. He is best known for his artistic direction of Rörstrand where he worked from 1931-1955. Nylund’s works are highly collectible and greatly sought after. Many are represented at the Swedish National Museum of Art and Design.
