Mid-century Scandinavian design Gunnar Nylund for Rörstrand stoneware teapot, made in Sweden circa 1950.
Rörstrand Sweden three crowns, Gunnar Nylund GN and style UM incised on base of body. Factory first. Lovely smooth, matte rich chocolate brown glaze. Lovely round form with slender spout, small lid and four feet. It also has a beautiful wrapped bamboo handle. Nice sturdy weight. This is a rare collector's item of iconic Swedish design.
Condition:
In very good vintage condition. No chips or cracks. There are some very subtle markings on the glaze around the body. Only visible on close inspection. See pictures for details and please contact with any concerns before purchasing.

Gunnar Nylund (1904-1997) was a Swedish ceramic designer and is one of the most well-known representatives of Scandinavian ceramic design in the 20th century. He is best known for his artistic direction of Rörstrand where he worked from 1931-1955. Nylund’s works are highly collectible and greatly sought after. Many are represented at the Swedish National Museum of Art and Design.
