Vintage Heinrich bisque porcelain op-art textured vase, made in Bavaria, Germany in the 1960s.

H&Co Selb Bavaria Germany Heinrich printed in green on baes. Also embossed with style no. 1979. Matte white surface with vertical irregular ribbed relief texture. Only the base has a glossy finish and the interior is glazed. Recognisable 'UFO' style shape.

Condition:
In good vintage condition. Some very light markings on the surface - almost impossible to avoid with bisque porcelain of this age. There is a chip in the base rim from production and a chip out of the surface on the underside as well as some crazing hairlines in the glaze. There is a popped air bubble on one side. None of this detracts from the appearance however when on display. See pictures.

Measurements:
12cm tall x 15.5cm diameter = approx 4.75" x 7"
Circular opening: 4cm diameter.

Heinrich Porcelain traces back to porcelain painter Franz Heinrich, who, in 1896, installed a muffle kiln inside his parents’ home. He first ordered white ware from the local companies, until in 1901 he began to produce his own porcelain. Selb is regarded to be the European capital of porcelain. Heinrich, Rosenthal and Hutschenreuther produced almost half of the German porcelain ware during the mid century.
