Mid-century vintage Martin Freyer for Rosenthal bisque porcelain plissée vase, made in Selb, Germany early 1970s.

Designed by German artist Hans Martin Freyer for Rosenthal. Green Rosenthal studio linie Germany marking on base. Style no. 3018/22 faintly relief stamped. Matte white surface with pleated ('plissée') ribbed relief texture. The base and interior have a glossy glazed finish. Tall, elegant torpedo form. Beautiful Op Art collector's item!

Condition:
In excellent vintage condition. No chips, cracks or repairs.

Measurements:
22.5cm tall x 9cm diameter = approx 9" x 3.5"
Circular opening, 2.2cm diameter.

Hans Martin Freyer (1909-1975) was a German painter and designer, born in Hanover, Germany. Throughout his career Freyer worked as a portrait artist, as well as a graphic and industrial designer for surface decorations and structures. From 1964 to 1974, he designed for Rosenthal Porcelain, developing relief decorations for glass and porcelain vases of the studio-line. His most well-known design is the Pleated Vase designed in 1968.
