Designed by German artist Hans Martin Freyer for Rosenthal. Green Rosenthal Germany marking on base also with the Martin Freyer signature. Gold studio-linie marking. Matte white surface with pleated ('plissee') ribbed relief texture, also known as the 'onion' series. The base and interior have a glossy glazed finish. Beautiful Op Art collector's item!
Condition:
In excellent vintage condition. No chips, cracks or damage. Faint surface markings, commensurate with age. Some staining inside.

Hans Martin Freyer (1909-1975) was a German painter and designer, born in Hanover, Germany. Throughout his career Freyer worked as a portrait artist, as well as a graphic and industrial designer for surface decorations and structures. From 1964 to 1974, he designed for Rosenthal Porcelain, developing relief decorations for glass and porcelain vases of the studio-line. His most well-known design is the Pleated Vase designed in 1968.
