Vintage studio pottery bowl, hand thrown by Peter Rowe for Coober Pedy Pottery, made in Australia circa 1980s.
Beautiful thick glossy blue glaze applied over matte ceramic form. Base is signed by the artist and impressed 'COOBER PEDY POTTERY Hand thrown by PETER ROWE'.
Condition:
In excellent vintage condition. No chips, cracks or repairs.
Measurements:
8cm tall x 13cm diameter = approx 3" x 5"

Peter Rowe and his wife Konnie moved to Coober Pedy from Melbourne in 1967 to work as opal miners. In 1982 Peter took up pottery and they converted their underground home into a studio and gallery called the Underground Pottery. Specialising in thrown or hand built stoneware or terracotta pieces twice fired which feature glazes capturing the colours of Coober Pedy and the outback.
