Vintage studio pottery vase by Ellis Ceramics, made in Melbourne, Australia in 1950-60s.
Cream glaze with ceramic beneath almost revealed along edges. Geometric hand decoration applied to large round form with flared neck. Base is signed by the artist.
Condition:
In excellent vintage condition. No chips, cracks or repairs.

22cm tall x 14cm diameter = approx 8.75" x 5.5"

Ellis Ceramics was an Australian pottery studio established in 1953 in Abbotsford, Melbourne by Czechoslovakian couple, Dasa and Milda Kratochvil. Their work was mostly slip-cast earthenware and a small variety of wheel-thrown bowls and plates. Many pieces are hand decorated or carved, making each piece individual.
